“What is your name?”
“Captive,” she said defiantly.
He was quiet for a moment. Then the chain that connected them was yanked. Elliot yelped as he moved like lightning for such a big man. He pulled her to the center of the bed, out from under her pelt and was half on top of her before she could process what was happening. Thorin gripped her chin and forced her to look at him.
“I am tired of these games.” He growled, his lips almost brushed hers as he spoke. “Maybe you don’t know how you came to be here, but you know your name. And I will have it or you will sleep standing up.”
It was obvious that he meant what he said. And as much as she wanted to piss him off, Elliot did not want to sleep chained to the wall. Not after feeling how incredibly comfortable the bed was.
“Elliot,” she gasped at the feel of his hot chest against her sensitive nipples.
“Ell-i-ot,” he pronounced her name slowly and she had to squeeze her lips together to keep from laughing. He sounded almost identical to E.T. when he said it.
“Some people call me Ellie.” She added and then frowned for giving away such an intimate detail about herself.
“I like Ellie. I will call you that.”
Oh great! Only people who knew her relatively well called her that. People she cared about. And that was very few. The book club and a couple of co-workers. It was hard to keep a wall up with someone calling her by her nickname.
She's a school teacher starting over in Portland, Maine and has sworn off men for good.
He's an 11th century Viking chieftain who has fallen through time and needs her help to get back.
Their attraction is instantaneous. But can he give up his duty to his family and village to stay? Can she give up a life of comfort to go back with him? Fate brought them together. Time might tear them apart.
